About this site

This web site is primarily addressed to scientists interested in my ongoing and past researches, as well as students (either undergraduates or PhD students) willing to join the Project SONATA BIS.

If you are attending (or are about to attend) one of my courses at the Jagiellonian University, you may switch to my Page for students (predominantly in Polish). But first, take a look at this picture, taken near Collegium Broscianum early summer 2015 ;-)

For a current schedule, room numbers, etc., follow my USOSweb profile.

Miscellaneous

The colors used at this web site are chosen to match with those in the logotype of The Jagiellonian University, which consists of two crossed gold sceptres on blue shield with a gold crown. It is confirmed to be used since late 1400s, taking the present form in the second half of the 19th century. The crown is a simplified version of the grave's crown of King Casimir III the Great, the founder of the University in Kraków. For more information (in Polish), as well as other versions of the University logotype, follow this link. Unfortunatelly, official University documents defines the colors in CMYK standard, not very useful for web design. After some quick research, with the help of this useful page, I found that the shield's and the sceptres colors can be defined as following RGB colors:

> UJ_blue: #004F95
> UJ_gold: #C3A67E

These two are used in the menu bar. All other links are same as Wikipedia links, namely they have the RGB color:

> Wlink_blue: #0645AD

The last one is not so distant from UJ_blue and gives a slightly better visibility. A widely-used substitute of UJ_gold is the RGB color:

> UJ_yellow: #FFC700

The last one, however, seems a bit too striking to me, particularly on modern bright displays, so I decided not to use it on my web site.

Please enjoy!
