Degrees:   MSc in theoretical physics - Jagiellonian University (JU), 1971;   PhD - JU, 1976;   habilitation - JU, 1984;   professor title - 1993.

Positions abroad:   postdoc at the Niels Bohr Institute, Copenhagen Univ. (acad. year 1978/79);   assistant professor at the Institute for Theoretical Physics, Utrecht Univ. (1986).

Employment:  Institute of Physics, JU, since 1971 until retirement in 2019, with interlude for doctoral studies at that Institute.

Major administrative jobs:   Vice-Director of the Institute of Physics for Educational Affairs (1988-91);   Head of Department of Field Theory (1994-2017);  panelist in the state Committee for Research (KBN) (1995-96);  member of the state Central Commission for Scientific Degrees and Titles (CK) (2010-2020).

Other services for the community:   membership in the topical Commission on Philosophy of Sciences of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences (PAU);   referee for scientific journals (206 reports);  reviewer for the Mathematical Reviews (190 reviews);  35 reports in matters of PhD degrees, habilitation degrees, and professor titles.

My former PhD students

(*) In this case, professor Jerzy Rayski was a supervisor pro forma, while I was the actual supervisor. Such unusual arrangement was a consequence of change of the state law about scientific degrees in 1985.
