AdS/CFT, integrability, Hopf algebras and gauge theory results from strings

    Abstract:
The AdS/CFT correspondence postulates an equivalence of a four dimensional
(supersymmetric) gauge theory and string theory in ten dimensions. Recently it
has become possible to test quantitatively this correspondence. The basic tool is
integrability, which allows for an exact solution of the spectrum of the string/gauge
theory. I will describe these issues, mentioning in particular the appearance of
Hopf algebras in the process of solving the theory. I will also present an example
of a string computation reproducing perturbative gauge theory results.
