Quantum Liouville theory and uniformization of Riemann surfaces
Abstract:
The problem of uniformization of Riemann surfaces, in particular the task
of finding the so-called accessory parameters of Fuchsian uniformization,
was studied by mathematicians like Poincaré over a century ago. I
would
like to explain what new insight into this classical subject could
be gained
by studying the universal example of a two dimensional, quantum,
conformal model -- the Liouville field theory.
