Born in 1952. MS (1976) and PhD (1981) at the Institute of Physics, Jagellonian University. 1993: habilitation (associate professor).
1996-1999: deputy director for student affairs.
Longer scientific visits: 3 months at JINR, Dubna (1987); 7 months at MPI, Institute of Astrophysics, Garching (1991); 1992-1994 and 1999/2000 - visiting lecturer in the Physics Department, UCC, Cork; 2 months at ESI, Vienna (1994).


Present research interests

General relativistic effects with potential application in astrophysics: dynamics of selfgravitating fluids, backscattering of electromagnetic and gravitational radiation.
Cosmic censorship hypothesis.
Global Cauchy evolution of selfgravitating systems.
